What Can Be Causing Your Chronic Back Pain

  • Degenerative Conditions

As part of the aging process, the vertebrae in your neck and back will wear out over time; thus, causing pain or discomfort.

  • Rheumatoid Arthritis

RA is a disease that causes the body's immune system to attack healthy tissue. Over time RA will cause inflammation that can destroy the facet joints in the spine, causing the inability to flex, bend or twist.

  • Disk Herniation

The Nucleus Pulposus seeps out of the Annulus Fibrosus via a tear, causing a bulging or a herniated disc.

  • Injuries

A car accident, sports injury, or fall can cause spinal cord compression.

  • Bone spurs

The vertebrae will move closer together and start forming bone spurs, also known as osteophytes. Bone spurs will cause stiffness and narrowing of the spinal canal.

The Treatments We Use

Our Advanced Spine Rehab Program incorporates non-surgical therapies that improve spinal functions to relieve moderate to severe back pain due to injury and degenerative conditions.

Patient receiving chiropractor adjustment for low back pain

Chiropractic Techniques

Gonstead Technique

Gonstead Technique is recognized worldwide in diagnosing and adjusting the spine. We analyze and work on spinal misalignments with “adjustment” to achieve maximum balance and stability. Patients who suffer from back, neck, or regional spine pain are most likely to benefit from Gonstead.

Active Motion Muscle Release Therapy

This non-invasive soft tissue restoration procedure reduces scar tissue. Usually, scar tissue binds between your muscles to limit flexibility, resulting in pain and stiffness in your muscles and facet joints. Once the problem is identified, our chiropractors focus on the target area using a combination of manipulation and appropriate movements.

Muscle Scraping Therapy

Muscle Scraping Therapy uses specially designed stainless steel instruments with unique treatment edges and angles to deliver an effective means of manual therapy. The technique and instruments used during the treatment process enable the treatment of scar tissue and fascial restrictions during rehabilitation, allowing for faster rehabilitation and greater success when the goal is restoring range of motion, eliminating pain, and bringing back normal function.

Low-Force Instrument Adjusting

Low-Force Instrument Adjusting uses a small hand-held spring-loaded tool that provides low-force impulses to targeted areas and delivers chiropractic adjustment. It is one of the most common therapeutic methods chiropractors use to treat various types of back pain, neck pain, or other extreme complaints related to the spine.

Drop-Table Technique

The Drop-Table Technique is a low-force technique in which you will lie face down on the chiropractic table with different drop segments in the right places. Based on our assessment, we will apply a gentle thrust, and the table will drop at the same time to guide the bones of your spine into the correct position and help relieve pressure on the nerves of the spine.

Patient receiving microcurrent therapy for low back pain

Advanced Therapies

Spinal Decompression

Non-surgical spinal decompression treats several spinal conditions. Patients don’t experience any discomfort during the procedure but will feel their spine gently stretching This movement causes a vacuum effect within the disc, drawing back displaced disc material to help relieve pressure on nerves and replenish the spine with essential nutrients, fluids, and oxygen to help heal damage.

Advanced Joint and Trigger Point Injections

These injections can help add cushioning and structural support to the damaged tissue in the affected area to improve the injury, disease, or condition. Essentially, this is tapping into the patient's healing system to promote self-healing of various musculoskeletal such as injured bones, tendons, ligaments, cartilage, muscles, and joints.

Ozone Therapy

Ozone therapy uses a naturally occurring gas consisting of three oxygen atoms. This therapy has been shown to reduce inflammation and balance free radicals in the body effectively. Over time, patients experience less pain and improved function within the affected facet joints.

Hyaluronic Acid Injections

Hyaluronic acid injections help increase the viscosity of synovial fluid through a process called visco-supplementation. This process helps cushion and lubricate joints allowing bones to move against each other with less friction and less pain.

Cold Laser Therapy

Cold Laser Therapy, or low-level light therapy, involves using a handheld wand that outputs specific wavelengths of light to accelerate cell regeneration. As the light energy reaches the targeted area, it can help eliminate pain and reduce swelling. It is highly effective for treating both chronic pain and acute injuries.

Microcurrent Therapy

Microcurrent Therapy, or e-stim, promotes healing by improving circulation, as electric stimulation enhances blood flow to the affected area. It is beneficial in reversing inflammation or swelling caused by an injury or a medical condition, such as osteoarthritis. With little to no recovery time needed, many patients turn to Microcurrent Therapy to find pain relief, improve mobility, and benefit overall health.

PEMF Therapy

PEMF technology emits electromagnetic waves at different frequencies to stimulate and encourage your body’s natural recovery process. The idea is that pulses at low frequencies can pass through the skin and penetrate deep into the muscle, bones, tendons, and even organs. This process activates the cell’s energy and promotes natural repair mechanisms.

Infrared Light Therapy

Infrared Light Therapy is an advanced low-level light therapy that helps the body produce nitric oxide to improve blood flow and increase oxygen nutrients to help relieve pain and treat damaged nerves.

Bracing/DME

Durable Medical Equipment Bracing is custom fit to the patient to provide support during the recovery process of an injury. The bracing relieves pressure from the injury, which minimizes pain and proper healing.

Patient receiving corrective exercise for low back pain

Rehabilitation Therapies

Rehabilitative Exercise

Rehabilitative exercise is considered active care, and it is an integral part of getting patients back to their pre-injury status. To further strengthen the injured area, our chiropractors and physical therapists work with patients to provide specific exercise instruction to regain the strength and endurance of the injured body part.

Neuromuscular Re-Education

Neuromuscular Re-Education is a non-invasive technique to restore the normal function of nerves and muscles that further improves your body’s movement, balance, coordination, and posture. Neuromuscular Re-Education uses various manual techniques, repetitive movements, poses, and therapeutic exercises to achieve the above results.

Myofascial Release

Myofascial release uses sustained pressure on targeted connective tissues around muscles and bones. This pressure helps release restrictions in the connective tissues, reducing pain and increasing mobility. Myofascial Release may be helpful in a wide range of conditions, such as neck pain, back pain, or other areas containing soft tissue.

Massage Therapy

Massage therapy focuses on relieving the soft tissues surrounding the joints like ligaments, tendons, and muscles. This type of treatment causes these soft tissues to relax and loosen.

Whole-Body Vibration Therapy

Whole-Body Vibration Therapy is not like your vigorous workout in which you are engaged in a single activity. It is a procedure in which you stand, sit, or lay in a knee bend position on a platform that vibrates your whole body to stimulate involuntary muscle contractions. It may be helpful for people with muscle weakness or soreness.
